Girls Golf Teams Miss The Cut At CIF Team Divisional

None of the three high school girls golf teams from the Foothill League advanced out of the first round of the CIF Southern Section playoffs, the first time that has happened in seven years.

West Ranch shot 444 in the Northern Team Divisional at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai and finished in seventh place in the 20-team field. The top-four teams in the team divisional advanced to the next round of the playoffs.

Valencia shot 484 and finished in 16th place. Hart shot 502 and came in 17th place.

Hart's Jamie Corr shot the low round among the girls from the Foothill League. She was 2-over par at 74 and finished fourth overall. Teammate Kendell Dusenberry shot 3-over par 75 and tied for fifth.

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame won the Northern Team Divisional. St. Joseph from Santa Maria, Thousand Oaks and Oxnard advanced to the Southern Section finals on Nov. 3.

The West Ranch girls tennis team beat Hart, 13-5, and won the Foothill League championship. West Ranch was the co-champions of the Foothill League the past two seasons. This is their first outright league title in that stretch.

The West Ranch No. 1 doubles team of Gabrielle Morici and Lena Poonopatam swept their sets, 6-0, 6-1, 6-0.

The Golden Valley girls tennis team beat Saugus, 11-7, and won its third league match. Golden Valley's No. 1 singles player Rebecca Ho stayed undefeated in league play and swept her sets, 6-0,Hackensack (3-7) pulled within 20-13 in the third quarter when senior QB Matt Carroll tossed a 30-yard TD pass to senior WR Jonathan Blowers, their second scoring hookup of the day. 6-0, 6-0.

In high school volleyball, the Trinity Classical Academy girls swept San Fernando Valley Academy. Julia Howell had eight kills for Trinity.

The Master's College women's soccer team lost to Biola, 2-1, in double overtime.

Bobbie Roberts scored a goal for The Master's College in the second half to tie the score, 1-1.

Jessica Austin scored in the 101st minute in the second overtime period to win the game for Biola.

In hockey, the Kings start a three-game road trip and play the Stars in Dallas tonight.It was like a different man I was playing, as Dennis repeatedly made strong good drives ping K15 golf clubs, and could reach the green better than he ever had The Kings are coming off a 3-0 loss to the Devils on Tuesday night. It was the Kings first loss in the past five games.

The Stars have won six of their past seven games and are coming off a 3-2 shootout win over the Phoenix Coyotes.
